Remote work is killing my work-life balance
Been working from home for 2 years now and I thought it would be perfect. Turns out my boss expects me to be available 24/7 and my kids think I'm not really 'at work' so they interrupt me constantly. I'm getting pulled in both directions and honestly I'm failing at both. Anyone else struggling with this? How do you set boundaries when your home office is literally 20 feet from the living room?
The commute used to be that natural separation between work and home. Now there's no decompression time which means work just consumes everything. That's not sustainable long term for your mental health or your family.
