Remote work saved my marriage

When they let us go permanent remote post-covid I was skeptical. But dude, being home means I actually see my kids in the morning. I do drop offs, I'm here when they get home, we do dinner as a family almost every night now.

My boss doesn't care when I work as long as the work gets done. So I'll take meetings at weird hours if it means 2 hours in the afternoon with my kids. Productivity hasn't dropped - actually went up.

This flexible arrangement is honestly the best thing that ever happened to my work-life balance.

This is huge. A lot of people don't realize how much just being physically present changes things. When I'm home I'm actually available for the little moments that matter, not just the scheduled stuff.

Remote work gave me back so much time with my kids. I can actually eat lunch with them instead of hearing about it later. The company saves money on office stuff and I get to be a better dad. Win-win situation.
