Remote work saved my relationship with my kids

I've been working from home for 18 months now and I'm honestly dreading going back to the office. I get to have lunch with my kids, pick them up from school, be there for the little moments. My boss is pushing everyone back 3 days a week and I'm trying to figure out how to handle this conversation. Anyone successfully negotiated staying mostly remote?

I feel this in my soul. Been working remote for 18 months too and the thought of going back to an office five days a week makes me anxious. I get to pick my kids up from school, eat lunch with them sometimes. That's not negotiable for me anymore.

Can you negotiate hybrid instead of full time back in the office? That might be worth having the conversation with your boss. The relationship with your kids is too valuable to just give up.

I haven't gotten to this point yet but I'm already dreading it. Being home during the day changes everything about your relationship with your kids. I hope you can find a way to keep at least some of that flexibility.
