Remote work saved my relationship with my kids
I've been WFH for 2 years now and I gotta say it's been a game changer. I'm not gonna pretend like I'm working and parenting simultaneously perfectly because I'm absolutely not. But being able to have lunch with my kids, take them to their afternoon appointments, and actually be here when they get home from school... man it changes things. My oldest used to barely talk to me before. Now we have our daily 3pm snack ritual. It's the little stuff. Yeah some days are chaos and my manager can hear kids in the background on calls but this is worth it.
Two years in and you're still feeling the benefits, that says something real about it. I'm still in the office most days but I'm jealous of guys like you who got that setup figured out. The flexibility with kid stuff is game changing.
