Remote work saved my sanity but now company wants everyone back in office

Been working from home for 2 years and it's been life changing. I save 90 minutes a day on commute, I'm home for my son's baseball games, and my stress levels are way down. My manager just sent out a memo saying we're going back full time starting next month. I'm actually considering looking for another job over this. Anyone else struggling with their company going backwards on flexibility?

Been remote for a while too and going back would kill me. Can you negotiate hybrid at least? Full 5 days would be a deal breaker for me.

This is the new reality though. Remote work changed everything for working parents. Going back full-time feels archaic when we've all proven we can do it from home. Push back on this one.

The commute savings is real but what about the mental health side? I work from home with my two and being able to actually be present during the day, even just hearing the kids when they get home from school, changes everything. Don't let them take that away without a fight.

90 minutes a day is huge. That's basically 7.5 hours a week you get back. I'd lose my mind going back to that commute. Have you talked to your company about a hybrid option? A lot of places are doing 2-3 days in office now.

Honestly if everyone is doing their work and hitting deadlines, why do they care where you sit? This feels like old school management that doesn't get it.

This is a tough one. I get that companies want people in office but they're not thinking about what actually matters to the people doing the work. Have you looked at other jobs that stay remote?

That 90 minutes is huge for family time though. I do the same commute situation and honestly I'd fight hard to keep remote. The quality of life difference is real.
