Remote work saved my sanity

I was commuting 45 minutes each way for 6 years. Since going remote two years ago I've picked the kids up from school every day, have lunch with the family, and actually see my wife during the day. My career hasn't suffered and honestly I'm more productive. The tradeoff is zero separation between work and home but I'd take that any day over missing my kids growing up.

Remote work changed everything for me too. Being able to have lunch with my kids instead of sitting in traffic is huge. That 45 minutes each way is like gaining an extra month of time every year.

Picking the kids up from school is the part I'd give anything for. That's the real wealth right there, not the salary.

Two years in and still feeling it. My wife noticed the difference immediately. Less stressed dad means everything runs smoother at home. Company probably saves money on my productivity anyway since I'm actually rested now.
