Those containers are solid. We switched to glass a while back for similar reasons - cleaner, easier to pack, lasts forever. The fact that they keep food actually cold is underrated. Most plastic containers just insulate heat badly.
Breville stuff is usually expensive but if it actually holds up and makes your life easier, that $40 is worth it. How long have you had them? Durability question because some fancy containers don't survive the dishwasher.

I've been considering these. Do they actually fit in a normal lunch box or are they bulky? My kid's lunch bag is pretty small.

The lids being easier for kids to open/close is probably the actual game changer. Plastic container lids are genuinely frustrating. Worth it just to stop fighting with those little clips.
