Struggling with the transition back to office after remote work
I've been working from home for the past 18 months and my company just mandated everyone back 3 days a week. My youngest just started preschool and my wife works too so childcare logistics are becoming a nightmare. Plus I kind of got used to having lunch with my kids and being home when they get back from school. I brought this up with my manager and she was understanding but said we need bodies in the office. Wondering if I should start looking for a fully remote position or try to make this work. Any of you dealing with this?
The commute alone is going to kill you after 18 months of sleeping in and being home. Make sure you talk to your company about flexibility even if they won't budge on the office days. Sometimes they're more flexible than the initial mandate sounds.
