Switched to 4-day work week and it's life-changing

My company piloted a 4-day work week (Monday-Thursday) and I got approved for it. Yes, same pay. My Fridays with my 6yo are incredible - we go to the park, get ice cream, just chill. Work is more intense during those 4 days but somehow I'm actually MORE productive because I know I have a hard stop. If anyone's company is considering this, PUSH FOR IT. It's the flexibility I actually needed, not the 'remote work whenever' thing.

Jealous honestly. My job would never but it's cool seeing companies actually test this out. Are you noticing you're actually more productive on the 4 days or is it about the same?

Friday ice cream and park days with your 6yo sounds absolutely perfect. That's the stuff he'll actually remember when he grows up, not whether you worked 4 or 5 days a week

This is wild because I would've guessed people work less efficiently with a 4-day week but you're saying work is MORE intense? Makes sense though - less time to waste

This is amazing and honestly something more companies should do. The fact that you kept the same pay is huge - that's the part most people don't get to negotiate. How did you swing that?
