Thinking about stepping back to part time

Toying with the idea of going part time when the youngest starts school. Wife makes decent money and honestly I want to actually be here instead of grinding away at a job I don't even like that much. Feels weird to even think about it like I'm less of a provider or something. Has anyone actually done this? What was it like?
