Thinking about taking paternity leave but worried about being replaced

Wife's due in 3 months and I have 12 weeks paternity leave saved up. I want to take it, I really do. But my boss has been dropping hints about how busy we'll be next quarter and there's a younger guy on the team who's hungry. I know this is probably my anxiety talking but I can't shake the feeling I'll come back to find out I've been pushed out. Anyone actually take the full time and come back fine?

Dude, I get it. I was terrified taking my leave would tank me at work, but honestly those 12 weeks with my newborn are memories I wouldn't trade. Your boss's hints are just noise - you've got legal protection and you earned that time. Take it.

Take the leave. I worked nights to be there during the day and those early months go so fast. Your job will still be there, but your kid's infancy won't be.
