Took 4 Months Paternity Leave and Don't Regret It
A lot of guys at my work thought I was insane for taking the full paternity leave my company offers. They said I'd fall behind, lose momentum, whatever. Honestly? Watching my wife recover from birth while learning to be a parent is something I would've missed and never gotten back. Yeah I had some catching up to do when I came back but my career didn't explode. And I bonded with my son in a way I don't think I would've if I was back in the office after 2 weeks. If your company offers it do it. Your career will be fine.
Good for you for taking it. A lot of guys don't realize what they're missing by not being there in those early months. How was the adjustment coming back?
