Took a demotion for better hours and best decision ever

So I took a pay cut and stepped back from my management role about 8 months ago. Less stress, more predictable schedule, home by 5:30 most days. Lost some income but honestly the peace of mind is worth it. My kids know who I am now instead of just seeing me tired on weekends. Thought I'd regret it but I haven't for a second. Anyone else made a similar move?

Did the same thing mentally when I realized coaching my kid's team meant more than staying late at the office. Respect for making the actual tough choice.

That's awesome man. Being home by 5:30 to actually be present with your kid beats climbing the ladder any day. The money's nice but you can't get those years back.
