Took paternity leave and it was the best decision ever
My company offered 8 weeks and I was nervous about taking it because of work stuff but decided to go for it. First two weeks were chaos, kid was still figuring out life, I was figuring out basic baby care. But weeks 3-8 were incredible. Bonded with my newborn in ways I didn't expect. My wife got actual rest. When I came back to work I had a whole different perspective on what matters. Don't regret it for a second.
Glad it worked out for you. I took four weeks and it was game changing. The guilt about taking time away from work is real at first but then you realize work doesn't care as much as you think.
