Travel for work is ramping up again and I'm bitter about it

Cool cool cool. Just got told I need to be onsite in Chicago for 2 weeks next month for project kick-off. My daughter has her school play that I'm apparently now missing. My wife had to reschedule her own work travel to accommodate.

So much for "we value work-life balance at this company." Apparently that balance only exists when the work doesn't actually need anything from you. Thinking about just… looking elsewhere at this point tbh.
