Turned down a promotion because the schedule was insane

Got the offer last month and I actually said no. Manager was shocked. But it meant 60 hour weeks and probably no time for my kids before bed, and I'm only here for so long while they're young. Took a raise in my current position instead. Feels weird going against the expected path but honestly I'm happier. Money isn't everything.

60 hours a week would kill you. I'm trying to balance career stuff with three kids and it's already tight. Respect for knowing your limit and sticking with it.

That's a tough call but honestly sounds like the right move. I turned down extra hours last year and don't regret it for a second. Bedtime with the kids is irreplaceable, you know?
