Turned down a promotion to stay sane
Director role opened up, they asked if I was interested. More money, more stress, way more travel. I actually sat down and thought about what I'd be missing - my 7 year old's soccer season, bedtime stories, maybe actually eating dinner with my family on weekdays. Told them no. My buddy said I was crazy but honestly the relief I felt was immediate. Anyone else make this choice and regret it later or did you feel like you made the right call?
I get it. I've been splitting time between two houses and turning down extra work has been key to not losing it. More money doesn't fix the guilt of missing stuff with your kids. You're being smart.
