Unexpected work crisis right before kids' school program
Of course my biggest client calls a crisis meeting for 2pm on the day of my son's school assembly at 3pm. I'm thinking about just not going but that's a major letdown for him. My boss said it's unavoidable. This happens every few months and I'm getting tired of choosing between being a good employee and being a good dad. Is anyone else dealing with this constant choice or am I just in the wrong job?
These conflicts are the worst because you lose either way. Is there any chance you can tell the client this needs to be scheduled differently? Sometimes they're more flexible than you'd think.
