Been remote for 2 years now and honestly I see my kids way more. But my boss expects me to be available during lunch and after hours because I'm home. Like no Carol I'm eating a sandwich with my 6 year old, I can't jump on that call. How do you guys set expectations when you work from home?
Two years in and you're still figuring it out? That's normal honestly. The real win is you're actually there for lunch with them, that's huge.
Seeing the kids more is the dream, but yeah your boss will take a mile if you give an inch. Set those hours and stick to them or you'll burn out fast.
That boundary thing is real though. Just because you're home doesn't mean you're always working. You gotta shut it down or it never stops, trust me.

WFH is a double edged sword for sure. You get lunch with the kids but then they expect you to be available 24/7 which isn't realistic. Set some hard boundaries or it'll eat you alive.
