WFH is saving my sanity but my job wants us back in office 3 days a week
Been remote for 2 years and I've actually been able to do school pickups and help out way more. Productivity is fine, maybe even better since I'm not commuting. Now corporate is doing this hybrid thing starting next month and I'm stressed. Childcare costs will go up, I'll miss time with my kids, and for what? Anyone else dealing with this or found a way to negotiate?
The pushback to office is real and it's frustrating. A lot of companies refuse to acknowledge that remote workers are getting MORE done, not less. You have actual data from two years of WFH, that should matter in the conversation with your boss.
Three days a week might not sound like a lot but it adds up fast when you factor in commute time and the mental energy of being in an office. That's basically half your family time gone. I'd be looking at options honestly.
