What's your exit strategy for the rat race?

Real question: are you just... doing this forever? Working enough to not be broke, trying to be a good dad, repeat? Or does anyone have an actual plan to get out? I'm 38, my kids are 5 and 8, and I'm starting to think about whether I want to grind like this for another 25 years until I "retire" and then actually spend time with them.

But financially it seems impossible. Curious if anyone here has thought through a different path or if everyone's just in survival mode like me?
