Wife just got a big promotion = I'm gonna have to step up more
Which is great! I'm genuinely proud of her. But also... she's now working 50-55 hour weeks and traveling monthly. We had a pretty even split on kid stuff but that's about to get a lot less even. I'm planning to adjust my schedule but realistically it means less time on my own projects and more daycare pickup and dinner prep. It's the right thing to do but I'm anxious about what that means for my career trajectory vs hers. Anyone navigate this kind of asymmetry?
Make sure you actually talk through the household logistics before it becomes a problem. Otherwise you're gonna end up resenting the situation even though you're happy for her.
