Work called during my son's baseball game
I turned my phone on silent and didn't check it. Son got a hit in the third inning and I was right there. Checked messages after the game and yeah there was an 'urgent' email from my manager. You know what? It wasn't urgent. It was a question that could've waited till Monday. We're so conditioned to think everything is life or death. My kid will remember his dad was in the stands. He won't remember that I answered an email 10 minutes faster.
That's a dad move right there. Your son will remember that hit way more than your boss remembers you missing a call. Keep that phone off.
