5 years ago vs today - the sleep deprivation edition
Before kids I could sleep 12 hours on a Saturday and still feel tired. Now I'm waking up at 5:30 AM every single day with like 6 hours of sleep and I'm somehow more energized than I've ever been. My wife says I'm just running on coffee and chaos and honestly she's not wrong. I miss sleeping in but I wouldn't trade these mornings for anything. There's something about sitting with my kids before the world gets loud that just hits different.
The 5:30 AM wake up is real but at least now there's a kid reason instead of just being weird. I'll take my forced early mornings if it means watching my daughter discover something new.
