5 years in and I don't recognize the person I was before

Pre-kids me was selfish, always wanted the newest stuff, spent money on stupid things. Now I'm thinking about college funds and life insurance and whether my car is safe enough. I miss the spontaneity for sure, like being able to go out whenever without planning childcare. But I wouldn't go back. The patience I've had to develop, the unconditional love, the way my kids look at me like I'm a superhero. That's worth way more than sleeping until noon ever was.
