I was a mess. Drinking every night, missed kids soccer games, terrible at my job. My wife gave me an ultimatum and I actually listened. Been sober 5 years now. Got promoted twice, my kids actually want to spend time with me, and I can remember conversations. I miss the easy feeling of not dealing with stuff but I don't miss being that guy. Anybody else been through this? It gets better.
