Became a Single Dad After Divorce

Everything flipped overnight. Went from part-time parenting to sole custody and it hit hard. First few months were chaos, I couldn't keep up with schedules and homework and laundry. But I've learned more about myself in the last year than the previous decade. Turns out I'm way more capable than I thought. Miss having another adult around to tag in, miss not having to figure out everything alone. But my kids and I have this bond now that's just different. Wouldn't undo it.

Man, that's a huge transition. How are you holding up with the adjustment? First few months were probably the hardest for me when things shifted with custody.

Sole custody is no joke. I went through something similar and honestly the hardest part was figuring out all the stuff nobody tells you - like how to manage school pickups AND work. Are you getting any support system in place?

Respect for stepping up. The kids are lucky to have a dad who's fully committed. It does get easier once you find your rhythm, but yeah, those first weeks are brutal.
