Became a stepdad and it changed my whole perspective
When I met my wife she had two kids, 8 and 5. I was nervous about it at first, not gonna lie. I thought my fun bachelor days were done. But stepping into this role showed me what actually matters. I used to care so much about stupid stuff - having the newest car, going out every weekend, making more money than my friends. Now I care about whether my stepdaughter made the soccer team or if my stepson learned to read that new book. The money stuff is still important but it's background noise now. I'm a different person and I'm so much more content.
That perspective shift is real. A lot of guys don't give themselves credit for stepping into that role and actually showing up. Props for being that guy for them.
