Becoming a Dad Changed Everything About How I See Life
Before my son was born I was all about the hustle, the next promotion, the next thing to buy. Pretty shallow existence if I'm being honest. Now he's 2 and a half and I genuinely don't care about most of that stuff anymore. I want to be present. I want to remember these moments. I miss the simplicity of just thinking about myself but I don't really want that life back. It was empty. Now I'm worried about stupid stuff like whether he's eating enough vegetables and if he's hitting his milestones. Sounds annoying when I type it out but it actually makes me feel like my life means something. Becoming a dad made me actually grow up.
This hits different when you've got kids of your own. That shift from chasing stuff to just wanting to be present for them is real. Sounds like you figured out what actually matters.
