Career change at 38 - took a pay cut and best decision ever

Left corporate to do something I actually cared about. Yeah the money sucks now and yeah we had to tighten our belts but I'm home for dinner most nights and I'm not grinding myself into dust. My kids know who I am now instead of just seeing me as the stressed out guy on his laptop at 11pm. What's wild is I don't actually miss the paycheck as much as I thought I would. Don't get me wrong, the financial stress is real. But trading flexibility for stress is a trade I'll take every time now.
