Divorce Changed Everything
Three years ago I thought my life was over. Married 12 years, two kids, and the marriage just wasn't working anymore. We split custody 50/50. Had to move to a smaller place, had to figure out single parenting, the whole thing was brutal. What I didn't expect was how much better I'd get to know my kids. When they're with me it's just us, we actually talk. Found hobbies I'd forgotten about. Started running again. Met someone new who actually gets me. I miss the simplicity of my old family structure sometimes but I don't miss being unhappy all the time. My kids seem happier too and that's what matters.
That's huge, man. Rebuilding after something that big takes serious strength. The 50/50 custody thing is the right way to approach it if you can make it work. How are the kids doing with the new normal now?
