Divorce made me realize who my real friends were
When I separated from my wife two years ago, I thought all our couple friends would stick around. Nope. Only like three people actually checked in to see how I was doing. One buddy from high school who I'd barely talked to in years became my rock. The weird part is I'm actually grateful for it because now I know who genuinely gives a crap about me. Lost a lot but gained some real perspective I guess.
Divorce is like a friendship audit nobody asked for. I went through the same thing three years ago. The silver lining is the friendships that survive are usually stronger and more genuine. New friends who know the real you post-split tend to be better quality too.
