Divorced and learning who I am outside of being someone's husband
Married for 12 years and we just couldn't make it work. It's been two years since the split and I'm in a weird place. Some days I'm excited about new possibilities, other days I miss the routine and having someone there. I'm figuring out what I actually like doing when I'm not trying to compromise with a partner. Started woodworking which I love. My relationship with my kids is actually stronger now because I'm more present with them on my days. I don't know what the future looks like but it doesn't terrify me anymore.
Two years out is a good place to be. You've had time to process and now you're actually figuring out who you are again. That's the real work right there.
