Fitness transformation but not in the way I expected
Before kids I was getting up at 5am hitting the gym regularly, always trying to PR. Now my workout is chasing my toddler around the backyard for an hour and then carrying his 35lb self up two flights of stairs five times a day. Don't get me wrong I'm probably in better functional shape but my six pack is definitely gone. Those gym gains feel like a past life. Anyone else basically give up on looking a certain way and just accepted "dad bod" as part of the deal?
Real talk though those 5am workouts are gone for like 15 years minimum. I switched my whole mindset to just staying active instead of trying to PR anything and it's weirdly less stressful.
Honestly playing tag with my kids in the backyard probably counts as my workout these days. The fitness goals shifted but at least I'm moving.
