Five years sober and I don't recognize the guy in old photos

Looking back at pictures from my drinking days and it's like looking at a stranger. I miss the easy feeling of not caring, I'm not gonna lie. But I don't miss the person I was. I've got my kids' respect back. My wife actually talks to me now. I'm present for my own life. The trade was worth it even on the hard days.
