From angry guy to someone who gets therapy
I was the type of dad who yelled at everything. Traffic, work, my kids for minor stuff. My oldest got anxiety from it. Therapist told me I had untreated anger issues from my own childhood. Started going last year and man, it changed everything. Not gonna act like I'm perfect now but I actually think before I lose it. My kids talk to me now instead of hiding. I miss being able to just blow off steam without thinking but I don't miss the scared look on my kids' faces. They laugh more. I'm more present. It's hard work but worth it.
How long have you been in therapy? I've been thinking about it but wasn't sure if it would actually help with the anger stuff.
