From corporate drone to stay at home dad and I'm not going back
Left my six figure job last year to stay home with the kids while my wife pursued her career opportunity. Everyone thought I was crazy including my parents. Honestly the identity shift was ROUGH. I spent 15 years defining myself by my job title and salary. First few months I felt like nobody. Now a year in I can't imagine going back. Sure I miss the money and the adult interaction but getting to coach my oldest's soccer team, actually knowing my kids instead of just seeing them at dinner, and having control of my schedule? That's worth more than any paycheck. What I didn't expect to miss was the gym routine and morning commute quiet time lol. Anyone else make a similar jump?
Six figures is nothing compared to what you're getting out of this. My cardboard box forts with the kids beat any office meeting I ever sat through. Respect for making the leap.
