From corporate rat race to part-time consultant
Two years ago I was doing 60+ hour weeks at a marketing firm. Burned out, missing my kids, marriage was getting rocky. Made the jump to freelance consulting last year and honestly life is different now. I miss the paycheck and the office camaraderie sometimes, but I get to actually see my daughter's soccer games and help with homework instead of being glued to my desk. Taking a pay cut was terrifying but best decision I've made. My stress levels are way down and I'm actually present at home.
60 hour weeks... I remember those days barely. Went part time a couple years back too. Best decision for my family even if the bank account took a hit.
