From Corporate Robot to Stay at Home Dad - 2 Years In
Left my job in finance two years ago when my wife got a promotion. Honestly thought I'd hate it but man, I don't miss the 6am commute or stress eating at my desk. The weird part is I actually FEEL like a dad now instead of just someone who shows up on weekends. Miss the paychecks and adult conversations though. My identity was so wrapped up in that job title that losing it was scary at first. Now I'm just... Brad who coaches little league and knows what his kids actually do all day. It's weird but good.
Two years is past the hard adjustment phase. By now you probably can't imagine going back. The flexibility and time with your kids is something money can't buy.
