From Corporate Robot to Stay at Home Dad

Hit 15 years at the same tech company and just walked away last month. Wife makes good money so we decided I'd take the leap. Honestly I miss the paychecks and having an identity beyond 'dad' but I dont miss the 2 hour commute or the soul crushing meetings. My kids actually know who I am now instead of just seeing me on weekends half asleep. The hardest part is that I feel less accomplished even though managing 3 kids under 8 is basically impossible. Some days I want my old life back. Most days I dont.

Only a month in so I'm sure you're still in that honeymoon phase, but this is genuinely cool to see. The corporate treadmill isn't for everyone and family time is worth something too.

That's bold. Walked away from 15 years though, that's a lot of security to leave on the table. But if your wife's income covers it and you get to be home with the kids, I bet there's something really valuable in that. How's it been so far?
