From divorced and bitter to co-parenting like adults

My divorce was messy. Me and my ex couldn't be in the same room without fighting. The kids saw all of it and it sucked. Went to therapy, did some real work on myself, and realized I was being immature. Reached out to my ex and we actually talked. Now we co-parent pretty well. We're not best friends but we're respectful and our kids are so much happier. I miss being married and having my family under one roof every night, but what I gained is the ability to be the dad my kids deserve no matter where I'm sleeping.

This is huge, man. Real talk, going to therapy and actually doing the work is what a lot of dads won't do. Your kids are seeing what real growth looks like now instead of the fighting. That's the move.
