From Night Owl Gamer to Dad Who Falls Asleep at 8pm
I used to be that guy. You know, stayed up til 2am, weekends were for gaming marathons, my identity was basically tied to being the 'cool single guy with no responsibilities.' Then my daughter was born 6 months ago and honestly? I miss the sleep but I don't miss the emptiness. I used to think all-nighters were a flex. Now I get genuinely excited about a 7 hour stretch of uninterrupted sleep like it's winning the lottery. The weird part is I don't even want to go back. My friends still try to drag me to late night stuff and I'm just like nah man, I got a 6am wake up call that's way more important than whatever bar we're hitting.
I keep my gaming setup but use it like once a month now instead of every weekend. The energy shift that comes with being responsible for kids is real. You just can't sustain that old schedule anymore.
