From night shift zombie to actually present dad
Been working nights for 8 years at the factory. Last month I finally got moved to day shift and honestly it's wild. I used to sleep all day, miss breakfast with the kids, see them for like an hour before bed. Now I'm actually making their lunches, doing school pickup, helping with homework. My oldest didn't even recognize my sleep schedule at first lol. The money is slightly less but I wouldn't go back. What I miss: the quiet, the extra pay, feeling like a lone wolf sometimes. What I gained: my family back, basically. Sundays are no longer my Friday. Still adjusting but this is what I should have done years ago.
That's huge man. Going from nights to days is a total game changer for being present. Your kids are gonna feel that shift big time.
