From overweight slob to actually caring about myself
Five years ago I was 280 pounds, spent all my free time gaming and eating junk. My kids barely recognized me half the time because I was always checked out. Something just clicked one day and I realized I was gonna die young and miss everything. Started small, just walking 20 minutes a day, cut out soda. Lost 65 pounds over 18 months. Now I'm actually playing catch with my kids, going on hikes, keeping up with them instead of being a dead weight at home. The identity shift has been wild though. People treat you different when you're not the fat guy anymore and I'm still getting used to that.
That's the kind of transformation that makes a real difference. I coach Little League and I see dads like you all the time who get it. Your kids are gonna remember this version of you forever.
