From Solo Traveler to Homebody Dad and I'm Not Mad About It

Used to spend every weekend backpacking or road tripping with buddies. Now I'm the guy who gets excited about a good family hike where my 4yo doesn't complain the whole time. Miss the spontaneity and sleeping in, but honestly the conversations with my kids about what they see on a trail hit different. They notice everything and it makes you slow down. My wife says I'm less of an adrenaline junkie now which is probably true. The trade offs are real but I wouldn't go back.
