From Solo Traveler to Soccer Dad - I Barely Recognize Myself
Used to spend every weekend hitting different countries, living out of a backpack, no plans. Now I'm coordinating carpool schedules and my idea of adventure is trying a new pizza place on Saturday night. Honestly I miss the freedom and the spontaneity, but watching my 7 year old score his first goal last month hit different than anything I experienced traveling. The wanderlust is still there but it's shifted to wanting to explore the world WITH them. Weird trade off but not mad about it.
You're not losing yourself though, you're just redirecting that energy. I spent years going everywhere, now I'm investing in watching my kids grow. Some people might not get it but the payoff is way better than any stamp in a passport.
Ha, barely recognize yourself? Wait until you realize you're excited about meal planning around practice schedules. That's when you know you've fully transformed.
