From Weekend Warrior to Full Time Dad

Man, 5 years ago I was that guy. Every Friday night was about getting out with the boys, sleeping in on Saturdays, staying up til 2am on my hobbies. Life was mine to do whatever. Then my daughter was born and honestly it hit different than I expected. I miss the freedom sometimes, not gonna lie. The spontaneity. Not having to plan everything around nap schedules and bedtime routines. But what I gained is insane. I never knew I could love something this much. Now my idea of a perfect Saturday is making pancakes with her and watching her light up. I'm a different person and I wouldn't go back even if I could.

Same energy here in Denver. Took me way too long to realize my kids would rather have me at home on a Saturday morning than out late the night before. Now I'm the guy sleeping in because I'm actually around to sleep in.

So real. The other guys gave me so much grief when I started saying no to stuff. But then they started having kids and suddenly they got it.

This is the one that got me. I realized I was using Friday nights as an escape from being a parent instead of, you know, actually being a parent. How long did it take before you stopped missing those nights out?
