Going from Corporate Rat Race to Work From Home Dad

Made the jump last year. Left a six figure job to freelance and be more present for the kids. The money part is actually not as bad as I thought it would be, but holy crap I miss adult conversation and the structure. I miss eating lunch at an actual restaurant instead of whatever my kids didn't finish. I miss that identity of being the guy crushing it in meetings. Now I'm the guy answering emails while wiping yogurt off my chest. But when my 5 year old can run down the hall and I'm there to catch him during a video call, that hits different. Definitely made the right call. Just some days are lonely, ngl.
