Got promoted at work but nothing compares to becoming a dad

Two years ago I got this big promotion I'd been working toward forever. Felt amazing for like a week. Then my son was born last year and honestly that's been the biggest accomplishment of my life. Seeing him take his first steps, say his first words, I can't even explain it. The promotion looks like nothing next to that. Priorities are just completely different now and I'm okay with that.

That promotion feeling fades but becoming a dad is permanent and way better. I remember thinking the same thing after my first was born. Everything else just feels smaller.

Congrats on the promotion but yeah this is the truth. Two years into fatherhood with three kids and I'd trade every professional accomplishment for what I have now.

Nothing compares. I spent years chasing career wins and then my son looked at me and called me dad for the first time and I was done. That's the real achievement.
