Got sober 2 years ago

I was that guy sneaking beers in the garage, telling myself it wasn't a problem. My oldest asked me why I smelled funny one time and that destroyed me. Finally admitted I needed help and went to rehab. Sober since day one. My kids actually want to be around me now instead of finding excuses to hang with friends. My wife and I are talking like humans again instead of just fighting. The hard part is I miss feeling numb some days when things get stressful, but being present and clear-headed with my family is worth any amount of struggle.
